Owner of Soulful Serenity Counselling
Hello, I’m Maryfrances, a registered social worker with over 13 years of experience offering virtual counselling to women who have experienced trauma and abuse. I understand firsthand how life can feel like a roller coaster of emotions, with many unexpected ups and downs. Having overcome trauma myself, I get it can leave you feeling lost and broken. But it’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling; just remember, emotions don’t last forever. I still remind myself of this sometimes.
Despite years of talk therapy, I once felt stuck and only halfway healed. I focused on external things like my career and relationships, instead of working on my inner world. It wasn’t until I accepted healing involves the mind, body, and soul that things began to change. Today, I recognize healing takes time, and everyone’s experience is unique.
Now, I’m here to offer holistic support and practical tools to women who have experienced trauma in a friendly and approachable space. Our focus is entirely on you, without that traditional therapy feeling. Whether you need to scream, cry, curse, or laugh, know that with me, you’re free to express yourself as you are and as much as you feel comfortable. Together, we’ll create a plan to handle life’s challenges in a way that works best for you and feels like you’re finally moving forward.
Hey, I’m Maryfrances, a registered social worker in Ontario with over 14 years of experience. But more importantly, I’m someone who understands how confusing and painful unhealthy relationships can be.
I know what it’s like to try to hold everything together on the outside while quietly falling apart inside. To question yourself. Doubt your instincts. And wonder if you’ll ever feel okay again after experiencing your own painful relationship experiences and trauma.
Which is part of why this work feels so deeply meaningful to me.
I also know how powerful it can be to finally talk to someone who really gets it.
If you’re looking for someone who is real, imperfect, human, and easy to talk to, you’re in the right place.
Therapy with me doesn’t feel stiff or overly clinical. It’s honest conversations where you can cry, swear, laugh, vent, sit in silence, or go in circles 1000 times while we figure things out together.
No judgment.
No fake positivity.
Sometimes I’ll agree that something just really sucks—because sometimes it does.
These core values guide how I show up for my clients.
Therapy should feel like a real conversation with someone who genuinely cares — not cold, clinical, or full of jargon.
Your experiences affect your mind, body, and nervous system. Our work may include practical tools that support all aspects of your wellbeing, including what’s happening in your environment.
Healing often begins when we feel truly seen and understood — both by others and by ourselves
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Your healing process should reflect your story, needs, and pace.
Learning to treat yourself with kindness and understanding is one of the most powerful parts of healing.
